Now - Onto Something Delicious!

If you are anything like Hunky Fiance & Me you have about a million gatherings to attend in the next few days... (Okay - so maybe there are only 2.)

If you have HUGE families like we do you may be asked to bring a dish to pass.
Puppy Chow is a no-fail option that's pretty easy to make in a mass quantity.

I found a recipe on cooks.com and modified it for our needs...
Please enjoy photos and commentary :D

INGREDIENTS:
1 Box Chex Cereal (Corn or Rice - Your Choice)
1 Cup Peanut Butter
1 Cup Butter (or Healthy Butter Alternative)
1 Bag Chocolate Chips (24 oz)
4 Cups Powdered Sugar
2 Clean Paper Grocery Bags
*Optional: Candy Canes*

Melt peanut butter, butter and chocolate in mid-sized pot on stove. If adding optional candy canes this would be the time to crush them up and add them to the mixture in the pot.

Empty cereal into large mixing bowl and evenly coat in chocolate mixture.

There are many methods that can be utilized to evenly coat the cereal. We tried a spoon but then Hunky Fiance used his hands because it didn't break up the cereal - he is brilliant in the kitchen.

Clean off hands after coating cereal... :D Don't forget to wash them before your next step!

Put powdered sugar into paper bag - Empty chocolate coated cereal into bag on top of powdered sugar.

Shake It Up!

This may be the time when you'll need the second paper bag. Ours appeared to soak up a lot and seemed to be near the breaking point - that's when it was time to double bag the mixture.

YUM-O!

Place Puppy Chow into fabulous seasonal serving bowl and attempt to deliver it to gathering without being devoured on the way...

Take a Celebratory Photo!

If you don't have some of the supplies you can find them on Etsy!

P.S. It might be polite to put a sign next to the Puppy Chow if you added peppermint. I had a few people freak out...
