thewheatfield Fabulous Print Giveaway

This week's giveaway is from a lovely Etsy shop owner named Katie who happens to run a great little print shop called thewheatfield.

This week you can win a 13" x 19" print of your choice!
(Trust me, it's going to be a tough decision!)

I simply love Katie's prints and recently purchased a couple of them as gifts for family and friends. When they arrived I was so impressed, although the photographs of the prints are fantastic they just don't do them justice, they are truly stunning works of art. (The one print is framed and waiting for a birthday, while the other is happily hanging in a friend's/soon to be family member's home!)

Katie began painting with watercolors when she was in grade school, she feel in love with an art that is full of happy accidents and spontaneity. She has allowed herself to rely on a process of letting go and allowing her work to, in a sense, create itself. High school fostered her love of watercolors and college brought along the integration of acrylics and collage, this gave her (a) "broader sense of expansion and artist development."

Katie's methods of keeping track of inspiration:
"Oodles of inspiration journals, zillions of computer folders of inspiration, and a house of inspiring objects! I recently became enamored of Pinterest and I always spend an ample amount of time in nature -- the most inspiring place of all."

Her tips for Etsy success - this girl's shop is doing well!
  • Develop a "look," a brand, something you will be recognized by.
  • Cute packaging really does go a long way! I love adding ribbons, stickers & hand written notes to my orders. I also have a special label that I customize for each order.
  • Be a great communicator! It's very important to stay on top of conversations.
  • Stay positive! More often than not, our thoughts create reality. Imagine yourself as a completely successful Etsy seller... and see what unfolds!
  • When you need help, ask for it. I'm currently working with two amazing assistants and I really couldn't run my business without them.

Katie loves that her work shares joy with anyone who views it. Each piece she creates is filled with pure love and intention that she hopes will inspire others to love an authentic and happy life.

Here's how you can win a fabulous 13"x19" print of your choice from Kate at thewheatfield:

LJWood Wire Wrapped Earring Giveaway Ends 1/30/2011

This week's Stunning Giveaway is from Etsy Shop LJWood!!

You could win this FABULOUS pair of Handmade Sterling Silver Petite Heart Earrings with Wire Wrapped Beading - Just in time for Valentine's Day!!

Before we get into all the details about how you can win these gorgeous earrings get to know Leslie, the creative mind behind LJWood! You are most certainly going to want to be her friend and own some of her work after this!

Leslie is a former teacher and a stay at home mom of two lovely little ones ages 1 & 7. Her oldest has jumped right into the big brother roll who always looks out for his little sister. Leslie's husband is also a teacher and is a huge supporter of her jewelry design venture. Her original passion is painting portraits, which she still enjoys. Coming from a family of artists it seems as though there are no limits for her creativity!

I am a huge fan of this "All You Need is Love" necklace!

Leslie discovered her passion and skill for wire wrapped jewelry design and beading after several years of dabbling. Starting off simple she found variation through color combination and bead choice. Her wire manipulation pieces were inspired by the work she saw other artists producing on Etsy, which is how Leslie got hooked! She is finding ways to incorporate her passion for drawing and design into her work and hopes to extend her collection. (I hope so too!)

Loving the simplicity in these sterling silver earrings!

Currently, Leslie is loving yellows, reds, and orange hues. "I do have to admit, though, that I am fickle when it comes to picking a favorite color because I love them all." (You said it sister!)

What great textures on this copper heart pendant.

"I find inspiration from everything round me! My family really inspires me because they are so supportive. Well, my one year old isn't so supportive when she tries to eat my beads...ha! ;)"
Leslie is really into hearts right now - which is just great timing with Valentine's Day around the corner! Simply put, she is inspired by love, driven by the thrill of creation and the joy that comes with sharing her work with others.

Leslie thinks Etsy is wonderful! She loves have the opportunity to share her passion with others and interact with other artists. Meeting wonderful, artistic people who have turned into friends is one of her favorite Etsy perks!

Perfect to wear year round - Love this Love Pendant!

When asked to share her advice for other Etsy sellers Leslie responded with - "... enjoy your craft and don't take it for granted!"

A past professor and friend, Jen Magathan, is a finalist in the Urban Canvas NYC competition!

What is the Urban Canvas NYC ?
It is a design competition for artists and designer to create artwork for temporary structures at construction sites all over NYC. AKA - Hide the mess! The designs will be on all sorts of protective structures around the city including, sidewalk sheds, construction fences, scaffolding, and cocoon systems.

Why vote for Jen Magathan?!
Jen is quite possibly one of the best professors I've had in my 5 years (gasp!) of college. She is such a great teacher and mentor who wants nothing but the best for her students. Suzannaanna's Just Plain Fabulous Giveaway

I am super excited for this week's featured Etsy shop and giveaway - I think this is one you will all love!
You may remember this Etsian from a post from a while ago about Billy Joel, where one of her prints was featured... Our featured shop this week is...

The One.
The Only.
The Fabulous...
suzannaanna

This lovely artist if offering you a $25 credit to her Etsy shop!
*Remember all photos are click-able and will take you directly to the products!
You could apply the credit towards this fabulous print, Perfect Harmony

Suzanna Anna grew up in New York and has recently moved to Milwaukee after finding love online. The two love birds then packed their bags and moved to Las Vegas and they now reside in Pewaukee WI. Suzanna's has been selling her art online for about 6 years and her newest interest is her video blog. The video blog is an attempt to meet more people and get out in the world. She has commit ed to video blogging for a year and will be making weekly episodes and posting them on youtube! They are absolutely wonderful - (My personal favorite is when she tries to get her art hung up in an Auto Zone!)

Isn't this Learn to Fly 9 Patch awesome?

Suzanna was a very creative child, she did a lot of drawing. She was educated in psychology because she had doubts about being a professional artist. Gravel Mosaics were her first form of wall art -- she must have been amazing because she was featured on HGTV'S That's Clever! (See the HGTV segement for gravel art mosaics on her youtube channel!)
After this Suzanna tried painting and feel in love! Her art is in a few stores now, which is just awesome. Her only regret is that she didn't dive in sooner.

Love the depth and texture in this print!

Creating and discovering new ways to express herself artistically is an ever evolving process for Suzanna. "I get bored if I stick to one thing for too long." Currently she is painting, sculpting, and creating digital art. Her favorite color for summer is turquoise (I'm just loving that too!)
Love the punk rock feel of this print!

Suzannanna is a very successful Etsy shop as I write this she has 1,513 sales and 7,269 shop hearts! Of course I had to ask her about her tips for success...
"Just be patient during the slow times. Things always pick back up."

This print adds great interest to the wall in this little sitting area - a great conversation piece!

How can you win $25 to Suzannaanna?
