Selena Gomez in Forever21

As a fashionista on a budget I totally appreciated this post on The Vogue Diaries today featuring Selena Gomez wearing a Forever21 dress on the Red Carpet.

The girl looks fabulous and I think this was a great choice. What are your thoughts? Is it okay for Forever21 to show up on the Red Carpet?

On another much overdue note - Hunky and I are loving Chicago and I recently received an promotion - I'm officially a Visual Merchandiser! (Many early hours hence my absence from the blogging world!)

Kate Spade & Bryce Dallas Howard

Isn't this the most fabulous photo? I just love the colors and how they work with Bryce's gorgeous red hair! Kate Spade, I am excited to see what you do with Bryce and I just love her "Spin on the Spade" - super cute!

Here are a couple of my favorite new items from Kate Spade:

This necklace reminds me of gum - it's appropriately named Tutti Frutti

This is the Melody Dress that Bryce is wearing in her ad - Love it!

p.s. Loving the happy shade of pink for February! Perfect for chasing away the winter blahs!

Have a great day!

Easy A: A Movie Review

I haven't giggled during a movie this hard since Mean Girls...

Emma Stone is truly brilliant as Olive, an awkward high school student, who plays her school's rumor mill like a fiddle. The story parallels The Scarlet Letter, which is ironically being studied in Olive's English class. Olive has so many fabulous lines:
"Whatever happened to chivalry? Does it only exist in 80's movies? I want John Cusack holding a boombox outside my window. I wanna ride off on a lawnmower with Patrick Dempsey. I want Jake from Sixteen Candles waiting outside the church for me. I want Judd Nelson thrusting his fist into the air because he knows he got me. Just once I want my life to be like an 80's movie, preferably one with a really awesome musical number for no apparent reason. But no, no, John Hughes did not direct my life. "

"Due to his "condition," Micah was sent on an extended visit to his grandparents' in Palatka, Florida. And if there's one thing worse than chlamydia, it's Florida. "

Easy A is a great story about the impact of a little white lie and how even with the best of intentions one can turn things sour. Uses sarcasm and crude humor to shine light upon topics like honesty, teen relationships, friendships and family dynamics.

As luck would have it - my most favorite scene is on YouTube!! Please enjoy the Pocket Full of Sunshine greeting card montage...

Love!

p.s. According to IMDB "Rated PG-13 for mature thematic elements involving teen sexuality, language and some drug material."

Top 5 Strangest Celebrities Scents

I don't remember which magazine I was reading, but I stumbled upon an ad for a fragrance promoted by a celebrity. It was one of those where I spent a little bit longer looking at the ad and wondering, "Why?" We've all had those moments - Why is this product being endorsed by so and so?! Sometimes we wonder this because of something the person has done in the past, but most of the time it's because the person just doesn't seem to have any connection to the product whatsoever. . .

Please enjoy my top 5 Strangest Celebrity scents!

------

5 - Cher
During her days in the spotlight Cher had this perfume called Uninhibited. It was produced for only 2 years starting back in 1987 and was released just before her self-titled album "Cher" was released.

According to Wikipedia: Uninhibited Perfume has top notes of bergamot, orange oil and aldehydic accords. Middle notes of heliotrope, ylang-ylang, geranium, jasmine, rose, and tabac. Dry down notes of cerdarwood, musk, sandalwood, vanilla, and vetiver.
- To me it sounds like the creator couldn't make up their mind and just picked everything.

4 - Prince
The fragrance of Prince - Get Wild - only lasted a while. He was sued for having a name that related too closely to another scent.

This packaging in quite interesting...

3 - Jeff Gordon
Halston Z-14, a review I found described this scent as potent. I just think it's really strange that someone would want to smell like a racecar driver...

2 - Michael Jackson
This is the list of scents endorsed by MJ - Mystique de Michael Jackson, Legende de Michael Jackson, Magic Beat Unwind, Magic Beat Heartbeat, Magic Beat Wildfire, Michael Jackson Mystery. Is this really necessary?? You can smell like Michael Jackson 6 times!

The packaging is just lovely - isn't it?

1 - Kiss
Lucky Us! Scents for both Men & Women! Who wouldn't want to smell like this rock group?

I hope you've been inspired to go out and buy some obscure new perfume or cologne!
Have a great day!
