Old Friends and Eric Church

I hope you are lucky enough to have a friend that you have known since you were 12, or even before that. Kayleigh and I are the kind of friends that don't see each other too often, as of recently, but when we were tweens and early teens we spent every summer together at our neighboring lake houses.

Here we are attending an Eric Church Concert back in June...

Here we are attending a concert in 2006...

The concert was lovely. At one point we were this close - then we were asked to find our seats! Kayleigh and her fiance Brandon are huge Eric Church fans. In fact, one of his songs is their wedding song!
Hunky and I having a fabulous time! Looking rather exhausted from having moved me home earlier that very same day.

This was the view from our actual seats - still not too far away! We ended up leaving the concert after Eric performed, we were kind of bummed because he was the opening act for Toby Keith...

But after we sat on the tour bus and visited with Eric for a while it was totally worth missing out on the main act! He was such a lovely, down to earth person. We talked about weddings, babies, and Kayleigh and Brandon got advice on buying land in Tennessee.

Hell on the Heart is my most favorite song by Mr. Church and I was singing at the top of my lungs at the concert! :D

Easy A: A Movie Review

I haven't giggled during a movie this hard since Mean Girls...

Emma Stone is truly brilliant as Olive, an awkward high school student, who plays her school's rumor mill like a fiddle. The story parallels The Scarlet Letter, which is ironically being studied in Olive's English class. Olive has so many fabulous lines:
"Whatever happened to chivalry? Does it only exist in 80's movies? I want John Cusack holding a boombox outside my window. I wanna ride off on a lawnmower with Patrick Dempsey. I want Jake from Sixteen Candles waiting outside the church for me. I want Judd Nelson thrusting his fist into the air because he knows he got me. Just once I want my life to be like an 80's movie, preferably one with a really awesome musical number for no apparent reason. But no, no, John Hughes did not direct my life. "

"Due to his "condition," Micah was sent on an extended visit to his grandparents' in Palatka, Florida. And if there's one thing worse than chlamydia, it's Florida. "

Easy A is a great story about the impact of a little white lie and how even with the best of intentions one can turn things sour. Uses sarcasm and crude humor to shine light upon topics like honesty, teen relationships, friendships and family dynamics.

As luck would have it - my most favorite scene is on YouTube!! Please enjoy the Pocket Full of Sunshine greeting card montage...

Love!

p.s. According to IMDB "Rated PG-13 for mature thematic elements involving teen sexuality, language and some drug material."

The Sing Off

I am absolutely hooked on this show on NBC.
It takes what I love about Glee - the singing - and subtracts all of the sub par acting...
minus Jane Lynch, who in my opinion is a genius.

Check out this video... There are no instruments, just voices...
This song gave me the chills last week!
This group - Committed is FABULOUS!

Hunky Fiance says I'm a dork for being hooked to this show... After he watched one episode he was a dork too.

Seriously - Love this show!

Another thing I'm a fan of - The host, Nick Lachey
Judge: Ben Folds - so cutely awkward
Judge: Shawn Stockman from Boys to Men
Judge: Nicole Scherzinger of the Pussy Cat Dolls

All of these people who are involved in hosting/judging seem to have such great chemistry.
In my opinion the show just works, displaying true talent and keeping me tuning in week after week!

You can catch up by watching full episodes of The Sing Off online!

Here are some fabulous items that remind me of The Sing Off!

Billy Joel - The High School Graduate

In my effort to bring you interesting tidbits about a little bit of everything I stumbled upon this gem.

On June 25th, 1992 Billy Joel got his high school diploma. 25 years prior he overslept and missed finals in both English and Gym which made him ineligible to graduate. AKA - Bummer!

Here's to you Mr. Joel and your fabulous accomplishment!

I thought The Longest Time was an appropriate video to share today...

This music video is a blast..! How cheesy - I love it!
